Air Quality Program

Tribal Air Quality Monitoring Program

Through the Tribal Community Air Quality Capacity Building and Monitoring Project, the Upper Mattaponi Tribe's goal is to install and maintain an air quality monitoring station and train tribal citizens in operations of air quality who can present information to an advisory board that meets quarterly to make informed decisions that can serve the community and reduce or mitigate emissions into the air.

Live Monitoring: Check it Out!

Welcome to the live feed from our Purple Air monitor, located at the Environmental Office. This monitor tracks Particulate Matter (PM) levels in real-time. PM refers to tiny particles in the air, which can contribute to issues like smog when concentrations are high. Stay informed about the air quality in our community.
